Why are the cool people so rarely at the obvious venues -- founder hangouts, dating app queues, online meetups and events?

If you want to meet and talk to cool people, your first thought might be… to try to meet cool people. Like, at a meetup or something, maybe? So then, why are the cool people so rarely at the obvious venues : founder hangouts, dating app queues, online meetups and events? [Note: In the next few examples, I’m going to try to point at some vibes that I sometimes get. Obviously, there are exceptions to each of the following statements
