She recalls: "I thought I'd never met anyone who'd lived with more absolute freedom … A need to keep moving, as if whenever he stayed anywhere too long, he exhausted the present by soaking it in too intensely."

Figure out what you are uniquely the best in the world at because you just love it. And then just find out who or what needs that the most. Doing what everybody else is doing feels like the safest thing to do. But it’s also the most competitive, which makes it the riskiest. If you’re good at course correcting, being wrong may be less costly than you think, whereas being slow is going to be expensive for sure. The trick with being confident, is accepting the results of an action or situation before it even happens.

One approach involves the analysis of physical constraints on black-hole computers. Another interesting approach involves the consideration of limit-computable mathematical objects such as prime formulas that are not computable by Turing Machines.
Observer-dependence in the double-slit experiment
One important motivation for exploring this connection is that it is the scientific basis for speculations that we may be living in a computer simulation of a civilisation that mastered the principles of black-hole engineering.
Observer-dependence in the double-slit experiment
This must be because the entire universe is identifiable with a single wave function.
Observer-dependence in the double-slit experiment
If the double-slit experiment is observer-dependent and there is an ensemble of observers, how is it that all these observations are consistent?
Observer-dependence in the double-slit experiment
second question yields a bi-modal distribution as it contains two possibilities whereas the first question implies a much more complex multi-modal distribution
Observer-dependence in the double-slit experiment
each bit of information corresponds to a yes/no question
Observer-dependence in the double-slit experiment
Assuming that light is a signal that transmits information to a detector, we may interpret the double-slit experiment as a communication channel where the detector corresponds to an observer.
Observer-dependence in the double-slit experiment
Science can’t solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are a part of the mystery that we are trying to solve.-Planck
Observer-dependence in the double-slit experiment
These insights motivate the use of algorithmic information theory in order to understand the epistemic limits of the scientific method.
Observer-dependence in the double-slit experiment
In order to make sense of the quantum randomness that is observed in the double-slit experiment, it is important to note that the scientific method is an algorithmic method that may be implemented by a Turing Machine and that scientists ultimately discover the relations between things and not the things themselves.
Observer-dependence in the double-slit experiment
Nearly a decade later, when physicists discovered the expansion of the universe was accelerating, Weinberg realized that his earlier anthropic reasoning had been spot on:
What Is the Anthropic Principle?
vast string theory landscape, which leads to multiple universes and anthropic reasoning should be applied in evaluating scientific theories related to our place in this landscape.

We know how to colour in one bit of it: the brains of organisms are coloured in with experience. How to colour in the rest? The most elegant, simple, sensible option is to colour in the rest of the world with the same pen.
Panpsychism is crazy, but it’s also most probably true | Aeon Ideas
All we get from physics is this big black-and-white abstract structure, which we must somehow colour in with intrinsic nature.
Panpsychism is crazy, but it’s also most probably true | Aeon Ideas
The theoretical imperative to form as simple and unified a view as is consistent with the data leads us quite straightforwardly in the direction of panpsychism.
Panpsychism is crazy, but it’s also most probably true | Aeon Ideas
In fact, the only thing we know about the intrinsic nature of matter is that some of it – the stuff in brains – involves experience. We now face a theoretical choice. We either suppose that the intrinsic nature of fundamental particles involves experience or we suppose that they have some entirely unknown intrinsic nature.
Panpsychism is crazy, but it’s also most probably true | Aeon Ideas
The argument relies on a claim that has been defended by Bertrand Russell, Arthur Eddington and many others, namely that physical science doesn’t tell us what matter is, only what it does.

Final Anthropic Principle (FAP): Intelligent information-processing must come into existence in the Universe, and, once it comes into existence, it will never die out.
What Is the Anthropic Principle?
Strong Anthropic Principle (WAP): The universe must have properties that allow life to exist within it at some point.
What Is the Anthropic Principle?
Weak Anthropic Principle (WAP): Observed scientific values must be able to allow there to exist at least one region of the universe that has physical properties allowing humans to exist, and we exist within that region.
