Ten of us were present on the day we buried our son. All of us were broken. Once our community was assembled, it was time to say goodbye and to let go. But I was not ready to let go. It was already uncomfortably hot by mid-morning, and yet his body — and the calico that shrouded it — remained cool to the touch, and stiff.
