You can't lose if you never quit - by Aadil - Alexandria“I think running every day is showing up for yourself.”
You can't lose if you never quit - by Aadil - AlexandriaThe head of engineering at a manufacturing plant I know well must decide who to hire, which machines to buy, how to lay them down in the plant, negotiate with the workers and the higher ups the solutions proposed, and mobilise the resources to implement them. That task is extraordinarily hard to automate. Artificial intelligence commoditizes codified knowledge: textbooks, proofs, syntax. But it does not interface in a meaningful way with local knowledge, where a much larger share of the value of messy jobs is created. Even if artificial intelligence excelled at most of the single tasks that ma…

Vaidyeswaran Rajaraman - WikipediaEscaping the bind takes more than hard work. You have to actually go out and generate your own sense of meaning. You have to build, often without a surrounding social structure, a way of creating value on your terms.

How to Be a Good Intelligence Analyst - by Santi RuizThe Tunguska event is the largest impact event on Earth in recorded history, though much larger impacts occurred in prehistoric times. An explosion of this magnitude would be capable of destroying a large metropolitan area.[10] The event has been depicted in numerous works of fiction. The equivalent Torino scale rating for the impactor is 8: a certain collision with local destruction.
Tunguska eventEntropy is the universe’s tax on time. The constant battle against entropy is the driving force behind much of what we do. The constant struggle between order and disorder is the source of change and progress

Professionals vs Amateurs. When we are amateurs our life was about… | by Srinivas Rao | Mission.org | MediumThe first step is to decide what to work on. The work you choose needs to have three qualities: it has to be something you have a natural aptitude for, that you have a deep interest in, and that offers scope to do great work.
How to Do Great Workthe truly great part about exploring what you find fascinating is that even if doesn’t lead to riches, you’d be better off as you would have lived life on your terms, did what you thought was interesting, and had a lot of fun along the way.
Getting things done by not trying - Inverted Passion“I decided to take a calligraphy class.. I learned about serif and sans-serif typefaces, about varying the space between different letter combinations, about what makes great typography great. It was beautiful. And I found it fascinating. None of this had any hope of any practical application in my life. But 10 years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to me…
Getting things done by not trying - Inverted Passionwhat keeps pushing the world forward is the treasure hunters, the explorers, and people who are quirky about things they work on, not caring about the big goals.
Getting things done by not trying - Inverted PassionYou can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

Getting things done by not trying - Inverted PassionExploration makes you a treasure hunter – you won’t know what you’ll find, but you’ll (eventually) find something worthwhile.
Getting things done by not trying - Inverted PassionThe lesson here is that ambitious goals are only hit when they’re one-hop away. The more unknowns there are in the path, the more unlikely you’ll hit them. What’s more likely is that you’ll end up spending a lot of time and energy exploring deceptive corners surrounding where you are right now.
Getting things done by not trying - Inverted PassionWhen we see the history of innovation, it typically comes completely out of the blue.
Getting things done by not trying - Inverted PassionSetting an ambitious goal actively works against you as it leads to deceptive incremental plans that don’t work.
Getting things done by not trying - Inverted Passionand the main goal of e/fuck is to have good vibes and make as many actual friends as possible. you have to actually like spending time with them, and the optimal action is always to be nice and help your friends if you can, even if you don't necessarily get anything in return
e/fuckIf you own 49% of a company and your enemy owns 49% of the company, who has all the power? Whoever owns the remaining 2%. They get to choose the leader, and kick out the other.
