computations for all Heads can be therefore be achieved via a single matrix operation rather than requiring N separate operations
Transformers Explained Visually (Part 3): Multi-head Attention, deep dive | by Ketan Doshi | Towards Data Sciencethere are not separate Linear layers, one for each Attention head. All the Attention heads share the same Linear layer but simply operate on their ‘own’ logical section of the data matrix
Transformers Explained Visually (Part 3): Multi-head Attention, deep dive | by Ketan Doshi | Towards Data ScienceA single data matrix is used for the Query, Key, and Value, respectively, with logically separate sections of the matrix for each Attention head
Transformers Explained Visually (Part 3): Multi-head Attention, deep dive | by Ketan Doshi | Towards Data Scienceperforming trend fitting and variance decomposition separately for each batch
Chapter 3 Feature selection | Basics of Single-Cell Analysis with Bioconductornot interested in HVGs that are driven by batch effects; instead, we want to focus on genes that are highly variable within each batch
Chapter 3 Feature selection | Basics of Single-Cell Analysis with Bioconductordefine the biological component for each gene as the difference between its total variance and the technical component
Chapter 3 Feature selection | Basics of Single-Cell Analysis with Bioconductorfeature selection is based on the same log-values that are used for later downstream steps
Chapter 3 Feature selection | Basics of Single-Cell Analysis with Bioconductorgenuine biological differences will manifest as increased variation in the affected genes, compared to other genes that are only affected by technical noise or a baseline level of “uninteresting” biological variation (e.g., from transcriptional bursting)
Chapter 3 Feature selection | Basics of Single-Cell Analysis with Bioconductor. Specifically, you should develop the three components of self-compassion: self-kindness, which involves being nice to yourself, common humanity, which involves recognizing that everyone experiences challenges, and mindfulness, which involves accepting your emotions in a non-judgmental manner.
Perfectionism and Procrastination: How They’re Connected and What to Do About It – Solving ProcrastinationClinical Perfectionism involves placing immense pressure on ourselves to meet extremely high (and often unattainable) standards [1], relentlessly striving for these standards, and basing our self-esteem based on the ability to achieve these standards[2]. When we (inevitably) fall short of meeting these standards, we experience negative emotions and low self-worth. Rather than helping us attain excellence, Clinical Perfectionism can actually result in a number of self-defeating behaviours, including procrastination [3].
