I assume that maybe you are not serious, but sincere
Be Sincere—Not SeriousI’d argue these people don’t understand how high performance comes about. It’s the accumulation of a hundred micro optimizations that add up logarithmically
Care about how the work is done — Andreas FragnerThis long-term orientation means they tend to strike a better balance between exploration and exploitation
Care about how the work is done — Andreas FragnerThey obsess about efficiency — from small details (keyboard shortcuts, editor configuration, etc.) to general strategies (how to structure their day, how to minimize distractions, knowing when they’re at peak performance, etc.)
Care about how the work is done — Andreas FragnerInsofar as I'm uncertain of my content, I'm confident in my analysis — except, I'm not fully confident in my analysis
Confidence all the way upas henow has the responsibility to devise responses to situations, rather thanrely on the familiar. Perhaps a life of abiding by entrenched practices–ofworking within the bounds of the familiar–is less troublesome
Freedom and agency in the Zhuangzi: navigating life’s constraintsworking with constraints
Freedom and agency in the Zhuangzi: navigating life’s constraintsA person who works withconstraints undertakes tasksresponsivelyto effect an optimalfit between hercapabilities, on the one hand, and what the world offers, on the other
Freedom and agency in the Zhuangzi: navigating life’s constraintsPractice becoming aware when you have feelings of low self-worth arising (practice catching the emotional charges) and locating them in the body
How to Detach Your Self-Worth From AchievementsWe’re afraid that if we were to be gentle and kind with ourselves, to relax our grip, we might not accomplish anything at all
The Dangers of Basing Self-worth on Achievement | by Alison E. Berman | Personal Growth | MediumWhether those ambitions and plans are successful or not will not be a factor in my happiness.
Finding Happiness Without Needing Success and Validationpriority, give myself the time I need for my interests, and set clear boundaries around my work and life.
Finding Happiness Without Needing Success and ValidationObserve the needy, manipulative behaviors in others; it’s easier that way
Finding Happiness Without Needing Success and Validationthere's a limit to how much you can change your preferences, and so if you push too hard, you end up inventing reasons for why every single thing you prefer is actually objectively best at serving general human flourishing
The end of my childhoodMost of my decisions in Ethereum involved responding to other people's pressures and requests
The end of my childhoodA person's identity is always tied to their role in the broader world that they are operating in, and over a decade, not only does a person change, but so does the world around them.
The end of my childhoodWe are obliged to examine the ideas that shaped the artist’s search for the absolute in art
Mondrian & mysticism: “My long search is over“ by Hilton Kramer | The New CriterionWith no established reputation, you can strategically benefit from the perception of being a newcomer, using your ambition as a selling point. Since people cannot rely on your long-term reputation, you can pitch ambitious plans. While you lack evidence of past consistency, there are also no contrary indicators.
The Dual Nature of Patience: Balancing the Long Game and Urgency | by Steve Prompt | Mediumhis preference stems from my belief that what I deserve today will surely change in a few years
The Dual Nature of Patience: Balancing the Long Game and Urgency | by Steve Prompt | MediumCultivate a habit of impatience about the things you most want to do. Don't wait before climbing that mountain or writing that book or visiting your mother
Life is Shortwhether you'll care about it in the future
Life is ShortThere are two ways this kind of thing gets into your life: it's either forced on you, or it tricks you
Life is ShortYou need to make money, and making money consists mostly of errands
Life is ShortIf you have some goal that is distant both in terms of time and your ability to exert influence over it, then be patient. But if there is something that you can do or learn right now that will help get you a little closer to that goal, then do so with a decided lack of patience
The Paradox of Patience. To be or not be: that is the question | by Daniel McAuley | MediumYou must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end — which you can never afford to lose — with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality, whatever they might be.
The Paradox of Patience. To be or not be: that is the question | by Daniel McAuley | MediumHe parachuted into a small village, where he was severely beaten and taken prisoner and held at the infamous “Hanoi Hilton” for the next seven and a half years
The Paradox of Patience. To be or not be: that is the question | by Daniel McAuley | MediumReflect on Past Successes: Review past experiences where patience led to positive outcomes. This reflection can reinforce the value of a measured approach.
The Virtue of Patience in an Instant World • The Havok JournalThis could be as simple as saving up for a purchase rather than buying it on credit or as complex as learning a new skill.
The Virtue of Patience in an Instant World • The Havok JournalFrom the Latin patientia, it implied not just submission but a robust steadfastness, a tolerance for the unfolding of events

What I Learned from Trying - jxnl.coIf you want to succeed in business, you should learn from people who are actively engaged in business.
What I Learned from Trying - jxnl.coI basically learned that we often set outcome-based goals instead of process-based goals, and even when we do set process-based goals, we are definitely not using the right measurement
What I Learned from Trying - jxnl.coou should not focus on how many cups you make; you should just count how many bags of clay you go through
What I Learned from Trying - jxnl.coI was never the best artist, and I don't think that was the goal for me either. However, I noticed that most of my skilled friends were always drawing and practicing. Even to this day, there are people I know whom I've never seen without a sketchbook: they probably fill 12 to 15 sketchbooks every year
What I Learned from Trying - jxnl.coAs I said before, grief is the result of unexpressed love, and the key to avoiding grief is to love abundantly, especially yourself
