Growing pains occur when you evolve internally while your environment stays the same, creating a gap in the compatibility between who you are and where you are. The growing pains of adulthood feel like wearing shoes that no longer fit—toes scrunched up against the edges, cramping, but walking around in them every day despite the pain.
