the mid-phd crisis is real
There comes a point during every conference and workshop I’ve been to when my sleep deprivation starts to saturate, caffeine intake skyrockets, and I feel my overall grasp on life grow tenuous. this time, at Simons, it came earlier in the week than usual. in hindsight this was totally predictable, though, because I started the week off by peeling myself out of bed at 7:30 for a 90 minute commute from where I was staying in the mission, to Downtown Berkeley, then finally up the hill to the workshop. this continued until Thursday, at which point I gave up on making it on time for the free…
