Rescuing Philosophy 10. 02. 2017 3.06 Philosophy today seems much less focused, energized, and directed than it once was. This article proposes five reasons why philosophy has taken such a turn for the worse. Philosophical ideas enter the realm of science once they have a methodology, which leaves in the realm of philosophy mostly work that has been shown to be wrong. This is related to evaporative cooling, the phenomenon in which the more successful philosophers take their effective ontologies and methodologies and form new fields, leaving the remaining philosophers with worse questions…
