I’ve always fantasized the idea of not having to depend on much for happiness: to be happy without needing to spend a ton of money or time, or have things a certain way. This was definitely also influenced by what my parents taught me growing up. I’ve thought that a low bar for satisfaction — only needing the bare minimum — would make me happier overall, as it would offer more possible directions at every moment.
