This post was written in collaboration with Cate Hall. We are writing this because we have both screwed up a lot of things, and have been really screwed up. We’ve wasted years, destroyed relationships, had addiction issues, and so on. This has made us passionate about trying to live lives we can be proud of, to the extent possible. Part of this involves self-compassion and patience. But it also involves some degree of self-scrutiny.
