Theseus' Ship method for mind upload : r/singularity
A lot of people talk about whether a mind-upload would actually be able to transfer our mind, or only create a copy of us and leave our mind in our original human body. That, I can't really say with the knowledge of consciousness we currently have, But I was thinking, seeing how bionic implants and brain machine interfaces are evolving, what if there was another method? What if instead we inspired ourselves by Theseus' ship. Yet another philosophical question in itself, but what if instead of directly trying to "upload", "transfer" or "copy" our mind to a computer, whatever it is, what if we slowly replaced components of our body until we become a fully digital? Say, if we transfer our mind all at once, there's the possibility that we would actually be creating a new entity separate from our original consciousness, but instead we could slowly replace parts of ourselves as to not lose who we are, until we start becoming this digital part of ourselves. Our brains are ever evolving organi
