The negative is that you might be unhappier if you don't meet your expectations. "Strong expectations, weakly held" is a way to thread the needle. Have high expectations when you have agency over a situation -- and truly believe it -- and then when you no longer have agency over the situation, immediately phase shift and recalibrate expectations, either altering the goal or the time duration or
