As I sit here recovering from open-heart surgery, I can’t help but reflect on the ways that Black women continue to be disrespected in public often for merely existing. One such event recently pinged my attention. I don't follow organized sports closely but I often find myself interested in the many ways Black people have had to navigate racism and discrimination in the sports and athletics world
