In 2021, I was in the process of ending a relationship with a crunchy Black woman who was a major fan of Brené Brown’s writings. She encouraged me to read Daring Greatly and Braving the Wilderness, two of Brown’s best known books. At the time, I wasn’t totally convinced that Brown’s work and research were for me.
