january, jinan. all images from this substack were taken during my most recent trip to china + taiwan to celebrate the lunar new year. every day of our lives— we continue to record on our phones, our cameras, our devices. concerts that look like a sea of iphones, happy birthdays that are sung behind screens, snapping a quick photo of a meal that i made, that i was very nearly proud of and quickly realized after a bite that it was incredibly average. it’s the norm, the way we live now with our devices, and our very human desire to record the lovely minutiae that make up our life.…
