Seeing the good doesn’t come naturally. It comes after being tired of always bracing for impact. For a long time, my mind went straight to fear, disappointment, or self-doubt. I learned pessimism as protection. Expect the worst and maybe it won’t hurt as much when it arrives. That was the logic. And honestly, it made sense until it didn’t.
