I hate Jim Halpert. I get the feeling that the creators of The Office wrote Jim Halpert to be a “normal guy”™️that everyone could relate to, a sort of placeholder for you, the viewer, so that one can actually be immersed in the series. And they weren’t wrong in doing so. Jim embodies the image that the average person has of themselves: a normal but comparatively intelligent and well-performing individual, stuck between bumbling idiots and psychopaths. Considering this is how 99.99% of people describe themselves and their own workplaces, it is no surprise that the show was so successful.…
