The retreat took place an hour outside of Toronto at the Ontario Vipassana Centre and was taught (through recorded instructions and video lectures) by S.N. Goenka. The course consists of a rigid schedule of 10 hours of meditation per day, and a strict set of rules each students must follow (ie no communication for the entire time, no dinner, gender segregation).
