For Upwork, I started at $40 and didn’t have much success, so I quickly raised it to $50 and got more jobs. I think undercutting it TOO much sends the wrong message to potential clients. $50 an hour is still well below the “going rate,” but also shows the client that you have something to offer and that you value your own ability to provide a good product for them! Don't undercut others, and most importantly don't undercut yourself. My experience on Upwork was frustrating. I accepted a job very cheaply to get a little experience on the platform and a good review. The guy didn’t communicate, the script was shoddy, the project fell apart, he never left a review. By going on cheap you’re making yourself available to people who aren’t serious and have potentially zero game plan. A lot of these people just need a Voiceover for their click ba
