• AI makes the world more nepo. So go make some friends. Let’s say there is a “human premium” where there are some services where people would prefer humans over machines doing them, even if the people are technically inferior. Well, this only works if the human is a really good hang. Become the good hang. Sometimes people assume that social skills aren’t practicable, but they are. You can choose to be funnier, kinder, and more empathetic. Pay attention to the people you like best, and study the traits that make them glow.

• When we were kids, we would do things just for the joy of it. There was no great plan ahead and we would begin somewhere. We would trust the path even before being assured that some wonderful reward was at the end. But now, we’re adults and our focus has somehow to be on the use. Now it’s all about monetizing, making it fruitful and I know that it is important. But I get sick of this mindset, when it kills the joy of diving in your personal craft, because getting to know your craft is also about getting to know yourself and taking your time with it, see it evolve before it’s something.

• tarting [at a young age] he’s read everything that he could find about business. The subject that interests him, he’s read newspapers, biographies, trade press. He went over to his grandfather who was a grocer and he read the progressive grocer magazine, and he read articles on how to stock a meat department... What he’s really done is he’s created this immense vertical filing cabinet in his brain of layers and layers and layers of files of information that he can draw back on now for more than 70 years worth of data.
