Leo on X: "Getting better at getting better" / Xgetting really good at something is a result of making as little mistakes as possible, and the only way to become acutely aware of your common mistakes is by looking back.
Leo on X: "Getting better at getting better" / XThe world is in need of intentional and healthy values represented in the technology we consume, not abundance.

Design Engineering - a State of Mind - by Andy 👨💻It’s the ability to not only answer the “how” you do it, but the who, what, and why.
Design Engineering - a State of Mind - by Andy 👨💻It’s the ability to see through the cracks and to fill in the details that make an experience feel complete.
Design Engineering - a State of Mind - by Andy 👨💻Not because it was mandated. Because a group of people decided that how something feels matters as much as what it does.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XEach person raising the bar simply by refusing to lower theirs.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XFunctionality can be matched. But the feeling of using something crafted with intention?
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XThey choose teams where craft is currency—where someone will notice if the animation curves are wrong, where performance isn't just measured but felt.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / Xwhen buyers aren't users, you can win ugly.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XYou can't scale what you can't define.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XThe principles can be written down, but the judgment must be absorbed.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XYou can guard taste with process, scale it through systems, but you can't teach it. The ability to feel the difference—to know instantly that this interaction is wrong, that font weight is off, that flow has one step too many—that's pattern recognition built over thousands of hours.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XUser feedback is the best teacher—not because it tells you what to build, but because it shows you why craft matters.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XTrack delight debt alongside technical debt. Monitor the small things you're not doing
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XEvery rough edge you leave unfixed teaches your team that craft is optional.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XTaste doesn't scale by accident. It scales through systems.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / Xbest GTM teams are shameless about volume but obsessive about quality. They'll email everyone, but the email will be good. They'll cold call, but they'll know your stack before they dial.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XTaste in GTM means respecting your audience's intelligence
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XOverselling your product's capabilities isn't just unethical; it's aesthetically offensive. It breaks the coherence between promise and delivery.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XThe founder stays close. Not to close deals, but to learn what resonates without compromising vision.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / Xtaste in action—knowing when giving customers what they ask for would break what they actually need
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / Xbest reps understand that every interaction teaches prospects how to think about your product. They don't list features—they reveal the philosophy behind your design choices. They sound like believers. When they show your fastest workflow, they're teaching speed as a value. When they explain why you don't have that enterprise feature yet, they're demonstrating focus as a discipline. Great demos make your constraints feel intentional, your opinions feel inevitable.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XChase any revenue or only the right revenue
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XChannel choices become obvious. Notion invested in video because their product is kinetic. Airtable bet on templates because their magic is possibility. When you know what you are, you know how to show it.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XTaste enforces one voice everywhere:
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / Xcan't buy this with ad spend—you build it in, decision by decision
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / Xclarity cascades through everything. When software feels intentional, users assume the infrastructure, security, and roadmap are too.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / Xfirst impression becomes a permission structure for everything else.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XTaste transforms chaos into clarity.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XThe market comes to them.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XWhen you know exactly what you're building and why, you waste less time on revisions, pivots, and apology releases.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / Xthe best teams are learning that taste isn't the opposite of speed—it's what makes speed sustainable.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XBut real taste runs deeper—it's in the error messages, the loading states, the features you killed because they were merely good, not essential.
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XThis is taste. The relentless, almost painful ability to know what should exist, what shouldn't, and where quality matters
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XBecause permanence is clutter and six dots whisper "grab me" while three lines shout "I'm a menu."
sarah guo // conviction on X: "Taste" / XLife is full of sliding doors moments
Reflectiona blockbuster consumer app, nascent infra, and a desire to move really quickly. Most of the infra talent I've seen brought over from Meta + Instagram has been quite strong.
Reflections on OpenAIPretty much everything operates around FastAPI to create APIs and Pydantic for validation.
Reflections on OpenAIThe company pays a lot of attention to twitter. If you tweet something related to OpenAI that goes viral, chances are good someone will read about it and consider it. A friend of mine joked, "this company runs on twitter vibes". As a consumer company, perhaps that's not so wrong. There's certainly still a lot of analytics around usage, user growth, and retention–but the vibes are equally as important.
Reflections on OpenAIIt's a fertile ground for taking ideas and running with them.
