Most people want to be married. Most want to find their spouse sooner rather than later. Most want to build a life with their counterpart and have a few children. Most people want this, and yet most lifestyles are in opposition to it. It’s as though these goals are viewed as things that simply fall in place when the time is right, requiring little to no intention on the part of the individual. Perhaps there was once a society that afforded these arrangements like ripe fruit from a tree, simply falling into a hand once the season were ready. We do not live in that society any more. The society we live in glamorizes the opposite of anything remotely similar to a permanent committed family oriented relationship while somehow also treating romantic love as the be-all-end-all objective behind human existence.
