Charles Irving "Chad" Jones is an American economist who has served as the STANCO 25 Professor of Economics at Stanford University since 2009. He studies growth theory and economic development, serving as a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. In 2019, he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and as a Fellow of the Econometric Society in 2020. Jones was a previous co-editor of Econometrica.
