Kodiak Gas Services (KGS) has recently been listed as a public company. Fear not, they’re not a new kid on the block, they’ve been around since 2010. Kodiak Gas Services primary business is a provider of large horsepower contract compression infrastructure. For what? To aid the natural gas industry in moving gas through pipes by compressing it. It’s a simple enough business model. O&G companies extract gas out of the ground and they put it in a pipeline to move the gas to somewhere else. To let the gas float to its destination on its own would be horribly inefficient. That’s where a large horsepower contract compression system comes into play. It aids in the efficient transportation.
