Log onto Instagram — as a woman, with a body — and you will likely discover you have a disease. Nothing so implicating or falsifiable as being overweight or obese or mentally ill. That would be rude. You will discover that — like fifty-seven percent of overweight Americans 1— you are afflicted with “food noise”. Food noise, for the not (yet) diagnosed, is unwanted mental chatter about food.
