The innovation from DeepSeek, Z .ai, and others in the future is entirely predictable, and we should learn from them. -- The last two weeks, GLM-5.2 captured much of the latest AI-model-release discourse. The discourse is reminiscent of the January 2025 DeepSeek moment, albeit with less impact to the public markets. I’m resharing an internal note I wrote after DeepSeek R1, since the takeaways also apply to GLM-5.2, and I’m sure will apply to many others in the future.
