Advice for finding lifts in the Tube? : r/london

A sub for everyday London life and the occasional tourist that passes through. Please read the rules and be respectful to our community. Just arrived in London at King's Cross yesterday and took the Northern line to London Bridge to switch there to Jubilee. Finding the right lift at King's Cross was easy enough. When we got to London Bridge, we took the lift signposted for Jubilee, but when we got out, we were in this section that only had escalators. The officer there told us to go back down, and we couldn't find another lift and ended up carrying our buggy up and down the steps to make it to Jubilee. Any advice for travelling the underground needing the lifts? On an unrelated note: First time in London, and people were so nice helping us yesterday, even taking one of our suitcases up and down the steps as we were carrying the buggy.
