I got into a taxi the other night and felt particularly sociable. The driver also happened to be called Sam so we hit it off instantly. I decided to get to know him: “do you live locally?”, “what do you love about Berkeley?” My last post explained the burning need I had to be in the Bay working on reducing risks from transformative AI and the sacrifices I’ve had to make along the way.
