Clinical presentation, diagnosis, and staging of pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms INTRODUCTION Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are rare neoplasms that arise in the endocrine tissues of the pancreas (picture 1). They can secrete various peptide hormones, including insulin, gastrin, glucagon, and vasoactive intestinal peptide, resulting in a myriad of clinical syndromes.
