In Impro, Keith Johnstone writes about ‘playing high’ vs. ‘playing low’. Essentially, you ‘play high’ by acting as though your social status is elevated relative to others’. The opposite is ‘playing low’. Many of my best teachers have ‘played high’ in order to get some kind of point across.
