A call for concrete stress-testing of AI policy proposals
AI 2027 was a descriptive forecast. Our next big project will be prescriptive: a scenario showing roughly how we think the US government should act during AI takeoff, accompanied by a “policy playbook” arguing for these recommendations. One reason we’re producing a scenario alongside our playbook at all—as opposed to presenting our policies only as abstract arguments—is to stress-test them.
