When I first started lifting, I learned from a fitness guru that if I felt sore during the first week, the best thing to do was to keep lifting. My parents were really worried that I was hurting myself, and TBH so was I, but the guide mentioned that people who don’t lift get muscle soreness at the start because they’re not to moving that way under all that duress. Stopping would never give my muscles the chance to acclimate and I’d be stiff all over again, while continuing would increase blood flow to those areas and reduce soreness as long as I was using proper technique.
