There’s a thing that happens in conversations that most people don’t have a word for. It’s quietly destroying more relationships than infidelity, distance, or even silence. A while ago, I was mediating between two people I love (haha). They were stuck in the way only people who are deeply invested in each other can be stuck. I listened to both of them. And at some point said: You know you both love each other but why doesn’t it reach the other. That question wouldn't leave me.
