Discussion at the 2001 Agile Manifesto meeting Computers are material embodiments of mathematical logic; they are the most formal physical objects in existence. Rationality, unaided, ignores context and purpose. The contexts and purposes for software systems are exceptionally nebulous, but also critical for success, so meta-rationality is necessary to guide rationality’s use in development.
