As cities can be “tall”, so can institutions. A simple comparison might be a small town one-building school with 50 students, compared to a 10,000-student university campus. It should be straightforward that the latter is more complex than the former. The straightforwardness of the comparison should come from the fact that the university campus is simply “greater” in most dimensions. The university campus is both more “wide” and “tall”.
