Our main methodology during this course will be Design Thinking. Although some concepts are drawn from other methodologies you will be learning, the principles of iteration and prototyping are really at the heart of where the UX field is at the moment. In this project, you will practice Design Thinking from the beginning to the end in a very quick way. This will help you understand the methodology at a large scale before we dive into the nuances of each step in more depth. This rapid design thinking exercise has been a part of the UX interview process for many companies in Silicon Valley. Imagine that you're doing this in real-time in 45-60 minutes, at a whiteboard with two other designers listening to how you describe your thought process. While it can be daunting, design teams have used this method to get a sense of how you approach design and how you talk about it with a team.
