If someone needs anecdotal validation for the importance of MATS research managers: As a mentee whose RM was Jeffrey, RMing improved my research productivity and future outcomes by more than 100% -- having done a few research projects before MATS, I can definitely imagine a counterfactual scenario where I would've been much more miserable and much less productive for large amounts of time had it not been for my RM.
