‘Separate self’ is necessary : r/nonduality
Welcome, this subreddit is for discourse regarding Nonduality (Nondual Reality). Nonduality refers to the ancient and modern collected body of knowledge, from the East and West, which consist of theories, pointers and practices related to Nonduality... Advaita Vedanta/Dzogchen/Taoism/Mysticism/Monism, etc. Non-duality doesn’t aim to dismiss or invalidate these experiences but rather to see them for what they are: expressions within the play of consciousness. The separate self is an idea, a construct of thought, but it’s a useful one for navigating the world and interacting with others. The beauty of non-duality is that it recognizes the paradox. The "world of illusions" isn't something to be eradicated but understood. The apparent self and its experiences are real on one level and illusory on another.
