Skin Deep | Race + Culture
Skin Deep makes space for Black creatives and creatives of colour to work towards justice through cultural production. Through our live events, online platform and print magazine, we build capacity for artists and activists in London and globally to think beyond crisis and survival, and dream of just futures. Predominantly Black and POC-led, Skin Deep occupies a unique space in the media and arts landscape. We produce and curate work that centres hope, joy and lasting meaningful change. We always take the long view, tapping into deep currents that flow from generations past to worlds yet to come – both in the stories we facilitate and tell, and in the long-term relationships we build with contributors, partners and our wider community. The Skin Deep core team is Anu Henriques, Sylvia Hong, Georgie Johnson, Hannah Azuonye, Isabella McQuaker-Kajiwara and Micha Frazer-Carroll. Want to support our work? Become a Skin Deep member. About What we do Skin Deep makes culture in service of racial justice and liberation. Working across editorial and events, we produce and facilitate creative work that informs, motivates and nourishes people in the fight against racial capitalism. We operate at the intersection of culture and politics, bringing together artists and organisers, writers and community leaders, performers and activists. We work collectively to weave an alternative cultural ecosystem that is able to generate the kinds of stories, images and sounds that can show us the way to liberation, and bring us closer to it. O
