Designlab | Unit 5 | A Designer's Responsibility
This is a common saying for many students in this course. As designers, we celebrate creativity but are cognizant of the weight our job carries. “Creativity”, as a result, is more than meets the eye. It’s not just the aesthetic beauty of a product that is the result of creativity: it’s how we have opted to solve the problem and who we have considered as we designed our solution. If we’ve designed something that only feels right to ourselves, we haven’t done our job. Designers work in service of others. In this lesson, you’ll learn about: We’re excited for everyone to become a designer, and we sincerely hope that you will be a designer who takes pride in designing ethically and responsibly. Let’s get to it! In our definition of UX design, we brought up the importance of creating things that are useful, usable, and desirable for people. Keeping these principles in mind as we design is arguably the main job of the UX designer. No matter where you work, these principles will help you focus
