Bui (Assistant Professor of Asian American Studies, University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign) Natalia Duong (UC President’s Postdoctoral Fellow UCLA, and Assistant Professor of Asian American Studies and Science and Technology Studies, UC Davis in Fall 2024) We invite submissions to a special section of Catalyst: Feminism, Theory, Technoscience titled “Racial Matters of Asian/America” that engage a broad range of scholarship in Asian American studies, feminist science and technology studies, and/or new materialisms. We seek contributions that examine the mutual constitution of race and matter through the critical frameworks of gender, sexuality, and disability. Extending the genealogies of subjectless critique and racial form (Chuh 2003; Lye 2005), we figure Asian/America not only as a sociocultural formation and geographic nomination but also as a material and racial consolidation of imperial capital.
