Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Book of Miscellany - Sunnah.com - Sayings and Teachings of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و سلم)Some people said to Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): "O Messenger of Allah, the rich have taken away (all the) reward. They observe Salat (prayers) as we do; and give Sadaqah (charity) out of their surplus wealth." Upon this he (the Prophet (ﷺ)) said, "Has Allah not prescribed for you (a course) following which you can (also) give Sadaqah? In every declaration of the glorification of Allah (i.e., saying Subhan Allah) there is a Sadaqah, and in every Takbir (i.e., saying Allahu Akbar) is a Sadaqah, and in every celebration of praise (saying Al-hamdu lillah) is a Sadaqah, and in every declaration that He…

Adhere to that which is beneficial for you. Keep asking Allah for help and do not refrain from it. If you are afflicted in any way, do not say: 'If I had taken this or that step, it would have resulted into such and such,' but say only: 'Allah so determined and did as He willed.' The word 'if' opens the gates of satanic thoughts". [Muslim].
The Book of Miscellany - Sunnah.com - Sayings and Teachings of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و سلم)Hudhaifah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I offered Salat (Tahajjud - optional night prayer) with the Prophet (ﷺ) one night, and he started reciting (Surat) Al-Baqarah. I thought that he would bow at the end of one hundred Verses, but he continued reciting; I, then, thought that he would perhaps recite the whole (Surah) in a Rak'ah, but he proceeded on, and I thought he would perhaps bow on completing (this Surah); he then started (reciting Surat) An-Nisa'; he then started (Surat) Al-'Imran and his recitation was unhurried. And when he recited the Verses which referred to the Glory o…
The Book of Miscellany - Sunnah.com - Sayings and Teachings of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه و سلم)Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: There came a man to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, which charity is the most rewardable?" He (ﷺ) said, "That you should give charity (in a state when you are) healthy and stingy and fear poverty, hoping to become rich (charity in such a state of health and mind is the best). And you must not defer (charity to such a length) that you are about to die and would be saying: 'This is for so-and-so, and this for so-and-so.' Lo! It has already come into (the possession of) so-and- so".

The best general advice on earth « the jsomers.net blogDua اللَّهُمَّ طَهِّرْ قَلْبِي مِنَ النِّفَاقِ، وَعَمَلِي مِنَ الرِّيَاءِ، وَلِسَانِي مِنَ الْكَذِبِ، وَعَيْنِي مِنَ الْخِيَانَةِ، فَإِنَّكَ تَعْلَمُ خَائِنَةَ الْأَعْيُنِ وَمَا تُخْفِي الصُّدُورُ Allāhumma ṭahhir qalbī mina-n-nifāq,wa ʿamalī mina-r-riyāʾ, wa lisānī mina-l-kadhib, wa ʿaynī mina-l-khiyānah, fa innaka taʿlamu khāʾinata-l-aʿyun wa mā tukhfī-ṣ-ṣudūr. The Eyes: Gateways to the Heart - Quran.comThe same is true for other people. Chances are, they don’t want to annoy you, they don’t like screwing up. So what’s going to work isn’t yelling at them, but figuring out how to change the situation.
Fix the machine, not the person (Aaron Swartz's Raw Thought)In moments of great emotional stress, we revert to our worst habits: we dig in and fight harder. The real trick is not to get better at fighting — it’s to get better at stopping ourselves: at taking a deep breath, calming down, and letting our better natures take over from our worst instincts.
Look at yourself objectively (Aaron Swartz's Raw Thought)But, as Semmelweis showed, this is a dangerous habit. Sure, it’s awful to hear you’re killing people—but it’s way worse to keep on killing people! It may not be fun to get told you’re lazy, but it’s better to hear it now than to find out when you’re fired. If you want to work on getting better, you need to start by knowing where you are.
Look at yourself objectively (Aaron Swartz's Raw Thought)We hate hearing bad news about ourselves so much that we’d rather change our behavior than just admit we screwed up.2
Look at yourself objectively (Aaron Swartz's Raw Thought)Have them make a small ethical compromises and they’ll feel comfortable making bigger and bigger ones

And it's exhausting merely thinking about giving work to someone slow. When you're thinking about giving work to someone slow, you run through the likely quagmire in your head; you visualize days of halting progress. You imagine a resource—this slow person—tied up for awhile. It's wearisome, even in the thinking. Whereas the fast teammate—well, their time feels cheap, in the sense that you can give them something and know they'll be available aga…
