business. The subject that interests him, he’s read newspapers, biographies, trade press. He went over to his grandfather who was a grocer and he read the progressive grocer magazine, and he read articles on how to stock a meat department... What he’s really done is he’s created this immense vertical filing cabinet in his brain of layers and layers and layers of files of i
Curius / OnboardingHacker News. I can’t say I understand the purpose of this site, founded by venture capitalist Paul Graham. I have two guesses. One is that it’s like Reddit for programmers, but they can claim that using it is work, not goofing off. My other guess, since it has no ads, is that it acts as Mr. Graham’s panopticon into his community of interest, as Cerebro does for Prof. Xavier. Anyhow, whatever bored programmers are spending their money on, it’s definitely not me.

Curius / OnboardingStep 7: Consider everybody in G except P. These people form a group of k people, so they must all have the same age (since we are assuming that, in any group of k people, everyone has the same age).
Classic Fallacies -- All People in Canada are the Same Agetate of a bit is a number (00 or 11), the state of a qubit is a vector. More specifically, the state of a qubit is a vector in a two-dimensional vector space. This vector sp
Quantum computing for the very curiousjust compute the matrix product H HHH it turns out to be the 2 \times 22×2 identity
Quantum computing for the very curiousI wish I could start with high-level abstractions for quantum computers. However, we’re still in the early days of quantum computing, and for the most part humanity hasn’t yet discovered such high-level abstractions.
Quantum computing for the very curiousIf you store your qubit in a neutrino then the state will actually be pretty well preserved.
