Since these blocks fill out the entire parameter space, this meant that there is no Rupert passage through the Noperthedron.

ventually, the algorithm produced the Noperthedron, which is made of 150 triangles and two regular 15-sided polygons. It looks like a rotund crystal vase with a wide base and top; one fan of the work has already 3D-printed a copy to use as a pencil holder(opens a new tab).

Every convex polyhedron will have the Rupert property(opens a new tab).

The full menagerie of shapes is too diverse to get a handle on, so mathematicians tend to focus on convex polyhedra: shapes, like the cube, that have flat sides and no protrusions or indentations. When such a shape is much wider in some directions than others, it’s usually easy to find a straight tunnel that will allow another copy of the shape to pass through. But many famous convex polyhedra — for instance the dodecahedron, or the truncated icosahedron, the shape that forms a soccer ball — are highly symmetric and difficult to analyze.

The U.S. imports about 80% of its rare earths requirement from China, Malaysia, and other countries, the data showed.
As China tightens its grip on rare earths, can Brazil be an alternative source?
China produces about 70% of the world’s rare earths — a set of 17 metallic elements — and processes nearly 90% of the minerals.
As China tightens its grip on rare earths, can Brazil be an alternative source?
Brazil is also being touted as an alternative, as the country has the second-largest reserves of rare earths in the world.

Dario has said (source) that he expects 90% of code to be written by AI sometime between June 2025 and September 2025 and that "we may be in a world where AI is writing essentially all of the code" by around March 2026.

The process harnesses a new, inexpensive nickel-based catalyst that selectively breaks down polyolefin plastics consisting of polyethylenes and polypropylenes—the single-use kind that dominates nearly two-thirds of global plastic consumption. This means industrial users could apply the catalyst to large volumes of unsorted polyolefin waste.
