Why would you start a startup in an economic downturn? | Y CombinatorAirbnb and Stripe, were started in the depths of the last recession
Why would you start a startup in an economic downturn? | Y CombinatorIf they pay you in this tough environment, it's a stronger signal. There’s a higher likelihood you’re building something they really want.

A new kind of wireless aims to connect the planet and save it, tooLoRa, named for long-range radio
A new kind of wireless aims to connect the planet and save it, tooLoRa is more efficient for larger distances.
LoRa vs. WiFi Ad Hoc: A Performance Analysis and Comparison | IEEE Conference Publication | IEEE XploreThe results indicate that for large file sizes, the delay associated with sending these large files is significantly higher for LoRa than it is for WiFi Ad Hoc, for any topology and interference.
LoRa vs. WiFi Ad Hoc: A Performance Analysis and Comparison | IEEE Conference Publication | IEEE Xplorelow delay leads to significantly lower energy consumption
LoRa vs. WiFi Ad Hoc: A Performance Analysis and Comparison | IEEE Conference Publication | IEEE XploreLoRa has lower throughput, it does not require any time for routing or forwarding the messages, which decreases the delay significantly when compared to a WiFi Ad Hoc network.
LoRa vs. WiFi Ad Hoc: A Performance Analysis and Comparison | IEEE Conference Publication | IEEE XploreDepending on the scenario, we might need to transfer a small amount of data over large distances using very little power, or we might need to transfer a large amount of data as fast as possible, with energy efficiency not being a priority
