On Monday I woke up at 5am, wrote from 6–7am, and then headed into work. This isn’t the first time in my life I’ve tried to have a writing schedule like this. Indeed, it often feels as if the last decade of my life was a long, ineffectual struggle between wanting to write and wanting to be peaceful, lazy, leisurely, still. Was it all laziness?
