Since 1978, LIMS has been at the forefront of our understanding of human movement. Training experts in movement analysis and awarding the CMA; building research partnerships, systems, and platforms which support advances in the field of Laban Bartenieff Movement Studies (LBMS); and creating opportunities for LBMS and LBMS-based artists to continue to positively shape and transform culture and the arts. Join us as we enter a new phase in our history to become a dynamic and innovative, tech savvy, 21st century education, research, and arts & culture institution, with an active role in shaping, supporting, and advancing the field. One which embraces and nurtures collaborative community, while acknowledging and celebrating our differences. A place, as Irmgard envisioned, “where the related disciplines which deal with human expression and physical function can enrich their knowledge…a center for comparison, analysis and cross-fertilization of ideas from the whole field of movement study”.
