Why do Americans dress badly? - An inquiry into American clothing culture. : r/malefashionadvice

After a 1 month trip to Japan, S. Korea and Taiwan, there is no more doubt in my mind that the stereotype is true. Americans dress badly. I come to MFA today to ask a simple question. Why? I have been lurking MFA for a while now, for probably the same reasons most of you started coming to MFA. I haven't posted before, because I didn't really have anything worthy of discussion. One month ago, I took a (rather long) thanksgiving trip to visit East Asia. I never really thought too much about it until I reached home, looked around, and thought to myself "Wow, everyone here dresses terribly." This is when I thought I had something that could be of interest to MFA. Throughout my trip, the place I personally though to be the "best dressed" was Tokyo. I don't think I came across a single person who was badly dressed. Style-wise I may not have agreed with them (and there are many MANY different clothing styles present in Tokyo,) but each individual was able to properly put their outfit together
