One of my biggest regrets from my high school education is that I SparkNoted almost every book I was assigned in high school. I read Animal Farm. I read Lord of the Flies. Everything else? A mix of CliffsNotes, SparkNotes, a movie adaptation if one existed, and some half-listening in class while Mrs. Case taught on each chapter. ***fun fact, my wife and I started dating because of Mrs. Case’s class so I guess it wasn’t a total loss*** I’d skim the first chapter, skim the last chapter, memorize one symbol per book (”the green light means hope or something”), and write a B-minus essay that…
